Boy Scout Troop 152

What do we do?

Scouting is Outing: The troop plans and goes on a weekend outdoor outing every month during the school year.  The scouts plan menus, buy food, set up camp, cook, and cleanup as a group.  Older scouts lead and teach younger scouts.  Learning by doing creates capable people who learn they can do more than they originally think.  And by the way, there's not much time for electronics.

We also go to a week long Summer Camp each summer.

The adult leaders provide guidance and transportation, but the scouts are responsible for their activities and their success as well as sorting out their challenges).

There is an advancement program designed to for scouts to learn skills needed to be effective on outings, in the troop, in our community, and eventually as a leader.  That is self paced and generally happens at our weekly meetings.
